Once word got out that I was drawing domestic cats for friends, the dog owners obviously started getting jealous and putting in their own requests. I was happy to oblige.
This was my very first pen and ink drawing of a dog, a cheeky little puppy, worked up from a rather dodgy, poor-quality photo I was handed. Nevertheless, there was something about the puppy’s expression that made me determined to make it work. And honestly, I’m still rather fond of it.
Because it was the first, it holds a special place and remains one of my personal favourites.
